Process mining with consenso
More transparency and efficiency through optimised core processes
More transparency and efficiency in your processes - with consenso and process mining
Process mining is a data-supported method for analysing, monitoring and optimising business processes.
By analysing digital traces from IT systems - such as SAP - real process flows are made visible and weak points or deviations are uncovered.
We offer process mining as a digital service based on the platform of our partner UiPath, enabling our customers to make their SAP-supported core processes more transparent, efficient and automated.
In doing so, we benefit from our in-depth process knowledge from more than 25 years of experience in SAP consulting in our focus industries of Retail & Consumer Products as well as from the innovative potential of our Competence Centre Digitalisation.
Success Story: How a globally operating company transformed its SAP-supported core processes with consenso and Process Mining
Sustainable process optimisation does not start with automation, but with understanding real processes. This is exactly where our joint project with an internationally active customer from the retail sector started - through the targeted use of process mining for the central end-to-end processes Order to Cash (O2C) and Purchase to Pay (P2P).
Initial situation: Non-transparent processes despite SAP
Despite established SAP systems, our customer lacked the necessary transparency regarding the actual process flows.
These sometimes differed greatly between individual companies and regions, which made standardised control difficult. There were repeated deviations from the defined target process, which not only impaired efficiency, but also led to errors and unnecessary manual effort. Throughput times were often too long and the reasons for this remained hidden. There was also a lack of a well-founded way to compare the performance of different company units in order to identify best practices and make targeted optimisations. Decisions were often made on the basis of assumptions rather than data-driven findings, which inhibited scalability and adaptability.
As a result, optimisations remained selective and reactive.
Solution: Process mining with UiPath - fact-based and scalable
As part of the joint project, we implemented UiPath Process Mining as a central platform for analysing and optimising the relevant processes.
We generated complete visual images of the actual process flows from real SAP data - including all deviations, loops and special cases. This made inefficiencies and bottlenecks visible and enabled us to systematically get to the bottom of the causes of long throughput times. By comparing key process figures and processes at company level, we were able to derive specific recommendations for action and best practices and transfer them to the processes. Operational weaknesses were addressed in a structured manner and specific improvement measures were introduced.
Result: more efficient processes, targeted automation, better interaction
A key added value of the initiative was the identification of automation potential. Based on the process mining findings, targeted RPA scenarios were identified, the implementation of which led directly to further increases in efficiency. The combination of data-driven analyses and our many years of SAP experience made it possible not only to plan measures, but also to implement them quickly and effectively. Processes were not only made faster and more cost-efficient, but also more stable and scalable. Collaboration between the specialist department and IT improved noticeably, as a common database now served as the basis for process control.
Conclusion: more transparency, more efficiency, more future
With the introduction of process mining, our customer has taken a decisive step towards data-driven corporate management. The foundation for continuous optimisation and strategic scaling of SAP core processes has been laid - transparently, measurably and sustainably.
