Successful SAP S/4HANA Transformation at Kurth Fleischimporte –
Efficiency and Innovation for Premium Meat Products

March 27. 2026

Gottfried Kurth Fleischimporte GmbH, based in Hürth and founded in 1910, is a quality supplier of meat products in the premium segment. As such, the company provides renowned retailers, bulk buyers and restaurateurs with significant added value for their business success and, as a supplier of a high-quality natural product, bears a special responsibility for its reputation among end consumers.

In 2025, Kurth Fleischimporte launched the SAP S/4HANA transformation in collaboration with consenso as its implementation partner. The aim was to modernise processes and secure the company’s future viability.

In preparation for this ‘kick-off’, Kurth had already undergone the consenso ReadinessCheck for S/4HANA in 2024. The results were analysed in workshops, and project objectives and the approach were defined. Following a four-week preparation phase in January 2025, implementation took place from February to October, followed by a short but intensive testing phase in November. Migration and go-live – after three test migration runs – took place in December 2025. With the start of the 2026 financial year, Kurth is now operating on the new SAP S/4HANA environment.

Kurth opted for a transformation path that we at consenso refer to as a ‘greenfield with brown patches’: a fresh S/4HANA installation in which proven processes and data were selectively migrated. This enabled the company to retain its existing strengths whilst benefiting from SAP best practices – including a consolidated, future-proof system landscape.

Project principles

Clear guidelines were defined for the project approach to ensure speed, efficiency and value-adding results:

  • Only necessary developments were implemented – focus on added value
  • Existing processes and interfaces were reviewed but not automatically replaced
  • Optimisation and standardisation, precisely where appropriate
  • Performance and Fiori optimisations were deployed in a targeted manner

consenso support

consenso supported the S/4HANA transformation in the following areas:

  • Project management
  • Development management and coordination
  • Process consulting and customising
  • SAP ABAP and Fiori development
  • Adobe Forms development
  • Interface development (SAP CPI)
  • Preparation and implementation of the go-live
  • Hypercare

We look back on a successful transformation project and would like to thank Kurth Fleischimporte warmly for their trust and collaborative partnership.
