consenso is Top Supplier Retail 2022

March 01, 2022

As a technology partner of our customer EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr, who won the reta award in the category Best AI & Robotics Application, we are now entitled to use the title Top Supplier Retail 2022.

The German food magazine "Lebensmittel Zeitung" is the leading trade and business medium in the consumer goods industry. Together with LZ, the Cologne-based EHI Retail Institute annually awards retail companies for their use of outstanding and innovative IT solutions in retail. The winners are selected by a jury of representatives from industry, universities and research institutions. Key selection criteria are the degree of innovation and the strategic or financial benefit of the projects. Since 2015, the service providers of the reta award winners who have supported retailers in the use and implementation of innovative technology solutions have also been honoured.

As a service provider for our customer and reta award winner EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr, consenso is proud to hold the title of Top Supplier Retail in the category Best AI & Robotics Application this year.

"The cut-over in the rollout of the SAP retail solution at EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr is a complex process consisting of many, many individual steps that involves a correspondingly high number of resources. But the steps are repeated per store and large parts of them are simple in themselves. This is a scenario that is ideally suited for the use of software robots or bots for short," explains Dustin Syfuß, consultant for Robotic Process Automation (RPA) at consenso. "Robots can take over the work of humans wherever rules are simple, and actions are repetitive. Actions, their differences and dependencies have to be identified once and then taken into account by the bots. The result is a highly interconnected workflow in which the bots can coordinate themselves."

But what happens if problems occur during automated processing? "We have also developed bots for recurring problems," Syfuß elaborates. "If a robot encounters a problem, the next one starts that can fix it. And if that doesn't work either, we need the humans in the loop. So, the rollout team's tasks do not fall away - they are reduced by the simple, repetitive activities. The rollout team concentrates on monitoring the process and dealing with more complex problems and is supported by a cockpit on the system side. Resources are relieved, the quality of the process increases."

Even more than the Top Supplier Retail award, we at consenso are delighted about the success of the cut-over automation project with our customer EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr, as well as the planned further joint projects in the field of Robotic Process Automation. Our thanks go to our RPA team and, above all, to the employees of EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr, whom we would like to congratulate on winning the reta award!
